Biography
Sherry received her DMA in Opera Performance from Yale University. She has sung with opera companies and symphonies throughout the US. She has also sung over 300 opera concerts internationally.  A former Jenny Lind competition winner, she has adjudicated several vocal competitions both domestically and internationally.

Sherry has had a private voice studio in Manhattan for 15 years, and also teaches at SUNY Purchase College and Queens College. She has students singing internationally, including at the Metropolitan Opera.

She was featured on the Today Show in a special about afordable education in the arts.

Sherry Overholt, soprano, and Lee Velta, baritone, are a husband and wife duo that performed hundreds of opera concerts for CAMI nationwide. Roger Rundle is the pianist. Go to overholtandvelta.homestead.com .  
Sherry Overholt, Lee Velta and pianist Roger Rundle were the most successful Opera Trio that years ago introduced chamber music and operatic recitals on five-star luxury cruise liners. Their programs were performed internationally on the Cunard Cruise Line, which includes the QEII. The group expanded into The Opera Quintette and has traveled around the world offering grand opera and intimate chamber music recitals.
